In Africa, lions are at the top of the food chain and few other animals can threaten them. However, this seemingly prominent status is actually an illusion. On the grassland, the survival rate of lions is very low. Less than 40% of the young lions can grow up successfully, and most of the remaining lions can’t survive the first few months.
Due to the high frequency of replacement of male lion leaders in the lion group and the habit of killing the offspring of the former lion king, more than a quarter of the young lions died in the mouth of the male lion.
Throughout the life of lions, few can live to the end, and there are countless hardships and setbacks, but there are always some lions who have survived with extremely tenacious vitality.
